Spending a day in a Disney World theme park is a fun filled, magical day the whole family. Packed with exciting rides, big brightly coloured parades, character meets and great shopping, a is one of the few times when you can truly become a child once more. But it is once the sun goes down, that the magic really comes to life.
Magic Kingdom is home to the Main Street Electrical Parade, a night time parade of floats and characters lit by millions of tiny led lights set to Disney’s classic movie soundtracks. One of the most magical experiences in the Disney World parks, all the lights in the Magic Kingdom are switched off and the Main Street Electrical parade lights the street within the park with pure magic. With floats of all shapes and sizes featuring all your favourite Disney character, the Main Street Electrical Parade is a must see on your Disney holiday. Remember, get a seat at the side of the road early, it gets busy quickly!
Followed quickly after the parade in Magic Kingdom, is the largest more impressive fireworks display in any of the Disney parks, Wishes. Hosted by Jiminy Cricket and the Blue Fairy, Wishes tells the story of the wishes of all our favourite Disney characters. When the Disney villains take over the show, the Disney characters have to wish hard to make good triumph evil. By the end of the show the crowd is left with the thoughts that wishes do really come true.
At Disney’s Hollywood Studio, Fantasmic takes the stage when the sun sets, at Disney’s 6,900 seat amphitheatre. A firework, pyrotechnic and water spectacular, the audience is drawn into Mickey Mouse’s imagination as he battles some Disney’s most well known villains. A live action show, Fantasmic is a thrilling adventure which is interspersed with scenes from some of Disney’s most loved movies projected onto fountains of water.
IllumiNations: Visions of Earth is the last of the night time firework shows at the Walt Disney World Resort. Played out over the World Showcase Lagoon, IllumiNations is a visual spectacular of lasers, fireworks and projected imagery, celebrating human life on earth. A very different fireworks display to Magic Kingdoms Wishes, IllumiNations is just as exciting, with the final firework bang being heard for 13 miles outside of the boundaries of the resort!
If rest and relaxation is more what you are looking for after a busy day at the parks, Downtown Disney is where you want to go. With a whole raft of shops and restaurants for all tastes and budgets, there will be somewhere for everyone to enjoy their evening. Don’t miss out on The World of Disney, the largest Disney shop in the world, and the perfect place to pick up a memento of your amazing Disney World holiday.
