Dubai is well known for its wealth and opulence, and this doesn’t just apply to cars, clothes and lifestyles. Dubai has sought to demonstrate its wealth through a number of architectural projects unlike those anywhere else in the world. Here are just some of the city’s most stunning structures:
Palm Jumeirah This is one of the most popular man made structure in Dubai where clusters of islands where built on the shores of Dubai and it was designed to look like a palm tree. Some of the properties in Palm Jumeirah are said to be own by various affluent people from different countries.

World islands The world islands resort is a series of islands located just off the coast of Dubai. Fully man made islands, they are designed so as to resemble the outline of the continents, with each section able to hold a luxury home. Although the potential buyers are a closely guarded secret, a number of A-list celebrities have been linked with the resort, which when full will be truly a sight to behold.
Burj Al-Arab Burj Al-Arab is perhaps Dubai’s most famous landmark. The hotel is the fourth tallest in the world, and features a helicopter pad that has seen a tennis game between Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer. The Burj is located on an artificial island created just off the coast from Dubai. Although the hotel is a luxury, five-star affair, it is open to tourists, who can take a drink at one of the magnificent bars. However, the best way to enjoy a site such as this is from the outside, watching the sunset glint off the pristine curved glass.

Hydropolis (Proposed New Structure) Although Hydropolis is still to be constructed, even in design it is one of the most unusual projects in the history of architecture. Conceived as the first underwater luxury hotel, Hydropolis will be situated twenty metres below the surface of the Persian Gulf, and will include rooms made almost entirely of glass, so as to give the feeling of diving. The hotel will come replete will all modern conveniences. Although it will be invisible from the surface, it will give some of the most stunning views of the underwater fauna just off the coast. The resort is expected to begin construction soon, and will surely be one of the wonders of the modern world.
Burj Khalifa Burj Khalifa is the tallest man-made structure in the world at 829.8 m (2,722 ft). It’s another amazing feat that Dubai has achieved when it comes to construction. It’s designed to be the centerpiece of a massive land development. So, although Dubai’s growth may have slowed a little in the last few years, there has been nothing to dampen the boldness and the desire to make it a city like none other on Earth. With the juxtaposition of modern skyscrapers and deserts sands, looking into different options for your Dubai holiday 2013 will instantly open up a whole new world of architectural discoveries.

What I like about these things is that they’re pushing technology forward. It doesn’t just matter if they’re “good” or “bad,” but there’s so much development in terms of engineering techniques that pushing things this far is a learning experience for everyone.
