
I found these broken buddha statues in a temple in Vientiane. One of the locals I met said that they bring their broken statues here instead of throwing it away. There were probably more than a hundred of them when I was there.

I found these broken buddha statues in a temple in Vientiane. One of the locals I met said that they bring their broken statues here instead of throwing it away. There were probably more than a hundred of them when I was there.

That’s really interesting! I guess it makes sense that they wouldn’t just throw away statues with religious significance – it definitely creates a cool effect to have them all clustered together like that, though!
Are there any interesting stories behind it?
i’m sure there is however I didn’t had the chance to know them though…
