You should bookmark Four Jandals if you love adventure travels. Cole and Adela, the blog owners and authors behind Four Jandals share a lot of information about a variety of adventure activities that will definitely spark your interest. My favorite page though is their water adventure page where they share a lot of info about gorgeous beaches and islands that they’ve been to.
In, 2009, Cole and Adela sold almost everything they had and traveled to Canada to setlle in Rocky mountains doing snowboarding during winter and rafting on summer. They then took a roadtrip across Canada and America.

How did you discover your passion for travelling?
“For both of us it started at a young age travelling with our families. Holidays were spent driving around New Zealand, visiting Australia, the Pacific Islands or Asia. Since we moved away from New Zealand in 2009 as a couple, we have just wanted to continue seeing as much as possible.”
What’s the most horrible experience that you’ve had on the road?
“By far the worst was when Cole was sick after visiting Marrakech. Sick for 2 weeks he lost 10 kilograms and couldn’t keep anything down. Just never kiss a snake from the street vendors is our advice!”
What’s the best travel experience that you’ve ever had?
“That is a really tough question, and one we get asked all the time. It sounds cheesy but the best experience is just getting the chance to meet so many different people from around the world. Their unique cultures, food and stories make travelling fun.”
What’s the biggest realization that you’ve got out of travelling?
“That there is just too much of the world to see! Every time we go somewhere new or talk to someone, we discover another place we need to add to our never ending list.”
What keeps you going? What keeps you motivated?
“The fact that in a few years we will return to New Zealand and it is too damn far away from everywhere else to travel easily. While we have the opportunities we have to grab them now.”
This is a silly and hypothetical one. If you would be given a chance to travel with a popular person or a celebrity, who would it be and why?
Cole – “Someone really cool like Jacques Cousteau or another travelling and adventurous pioneer like Duke Kahanamoku (helped spread surfing around the world).”
Adela – “Bear Grylls would be fun because he loves adventure and doesn’t mind laughing at himself.”
Where’s your favourite place in this planet and why?
“We are pretty lucky to call New Zealand home and it will always be that special place that we know we can return to.”
What’s your best tip for newbie traveller?
“If you are travelling as a couple then the only advice is to be forgiving. Living out of each others back pockets you will quickly learn to love them or hate them. We think everyone should have to travel before getting married!”
What’s the funniest and silliest thing you’ve ever done while travelling?
“We love a good silly photo competition. Such as trying to jump over the Pyramids in Egypt or hanging off the Eiffel Tower. Silly photos always turn out brilliant.”
What do you think about yourself?
Cole – “I think I am easy going and often get told that if I was any more laidback I would be horizontal. But I think you need to be able to go with the flow when you travel. If you didn’t then you would stress about too many things. Oh and I am sure Adela will say I am super stubborn.”
Adela – “Yup he is super stubborn! But sometimes it is needed so that if we can’t decide on something to do then we just do what he wants to do haha. I get told I am very Motherly and like to have a plan of what we are doing. We seem to compliment each other well when we travel.”
