The Shikaras (or Water Taxi) are the main form of transportation on Dal Lake. A cruise onboard a shikara is also a favorite thing to do among local and foreign tourists alike visiting Srinagar.
The rate for an hour is displayed along the boulevard as set by the local association which makes booking easier coz you dont have to bargain anymore.

Great photo! You know I think these would make it in the states but they would
undoubtedly have to outfit them with giant jet ski motors so some extreme
sportsters could do jumps, flips, and daring tricks with them – just like real
urban taxis!!! W.C.C.
