Genting Highlands – A Short Vacation from my Backpacking Trip

After being on the road continuously for six months now, I decided to take a break from my usual “tight budget trip” and decided to treat myself for a 3D/2N R&R trip at Genting Highlands.

My friends and I decided to book a hotel room at First World Hotel and luckily there was an ongoing promotion and we got the rooms for only 48RM per night with buffet breakfast, quite a great steal right!!!

FGenting Highlands - A Short Vacation from my Backpacking Trip

So what exactly can you do in Genting Highlands?

A lot of local tourists here go to take a short vacation to enjoy the cool climate of Genting. There’re outdoor an indoor themeparks, casino, gaming arcade, bowling lanes, videoke, spa, shopping boutiques and restaurants.

You could also take a walk and enjoy the cool mountain breeze. Although we stayed indoor for the whole we were there because it was raining and it was too cold for us.

  5. when i go to malaysia i want to visit this part. i remember seeing it in sports unlimited.

  6. I enjoyed the cable ride, it was said as the longest in Asia…and yes the hotel at Genting is way cheaper than most hotel. Not as cold as in Baguio but the view was amazing especially while at the cable car.

  7. Hey Flip! That looks cool and festive :) I also love (and believe in) the idea of treating one’s self in the middle of a budgeted trip. Enjoy!

PS: The hotel was actually named by thejetpacker.com as one of “The 15 Ugliest Hotels In The World” because, to quote the site, “it looks like a bunch of kids on a sugar high painted this place” (they just made the list for fun of course) hehe

    • hahaha i agree… and its the craziest buffet experience i ever had too… worth telling future grandkids though (LOL)

  8. Ay winner talaga ang buffet breakfast nila… akalain mo we’re no. 1,115 para lang mag check in.. naloka talaga ako.. :)
