When you mention Egypt to anyone, the first thing that comes to mind is the pyramids. As a tourist or a traveller, you often wonder what else does this beautiful country offers. Before you book any Egypt holiday deals that you see online, check these amazing three alternatives.
Luxor
This is the ancient city of Thebes, also known as the city of the god Amon-Ra and it was the great capital of Egpyt. History buffs and those who are interested to marvel at the great ruins to learn about the past civilization that lived in this magnificent place should pay a visit to Luxor.
Some interesting sights not to be missed include: Luxor Temple, Memorial Tomb of Rameses II, Palace of Amenophis III and a lot more.
Hurghada Beach

What used to be a fishing village is now a city in Egypt. Hurghada is a famous destination for tourists coming from Cairo and Northern Egypt. It is known to be a great diving site because of the abundance of coral reefs and marine life. Another popular activity amongst visitors of Harghada is a boat trip to Giftun, an uninhibited island rich with coral gardens.
Nile River

Known as the longest river in the world, Nile River is a great alternative destination for tourists visiting Egypt. A popular activity is to take a felucca cruise and experience the majesty of this great river. A felucca is a traditional wooden boat that relies on river current and wind for propulsion. Aswan is known to be the best place to catch the felucca trip.

Ahhh Egypt is the one country I am MOST EXCITED in visiting, I can not wait to go beyond the pyramids.
me too man… but it all depends on budget
There’s so many other places to visit in Egypt than the Pyramids, you’re absolutely right. From my point of view, the pyramids has become overrated but that partly has got to do with the touts.
