April 2011 Wrap Up

I spent the first three weeks of April in El Nido, Palawan. I’m so mesmerized with the beauty of El Nido and I’m thinking of living there after I finish my backpacking trip (which I don’t know when yet).

In case you’re new to my blog, here’s what transpired last April.

April 2011 Wrap Up

I got busy island hopping in El Nido where there are a variety of options. I took Tour A and Tour B and my favorite among all the places that I’ve been to is Nacpan and Calitang Beach.

I also learned crab wrestling which is the equivalent of spider fighting here in Manila. During low tide, I spend my time walking along the shore to observe amazing sea creatures which I’m really amazed of. My most favorite activity though was eating halo-halo under the shade of a tree.

This is why I don’t like having just two weeks of vacation in a year. It won’t be enough to savor the goodness of one destination.

And since I spent alot of time in one place, I documented some information that you might find useful in case you find yourself on a plane en route to El Nido.

I listed most of the accommodations in El Nido. I also wrote a small guide on how to go to El Nido and some travel tips on how to travel cheaply in this paradise.

For the ‘Meet the Nomads’ section, I interviewed four world reknowned travel bloggers: Poi and Kirsty of No Place to Be, Sherry Ott of Ottsworld and Briefcase to Backpack, Gillian of One Giant Step and Jeannie Mark of Nomadic Chick.

In case you visit El Nido, you might notice that there’s an abundance of dogs around town. No need to worry since most of them are lazy enough to even bark. But just in case you got so unlucky and get bitten by a stray dog, just go to the health center near the municipal building or if you prefer a private doctor, look for Dr. Reyes in Bgy. Corong Corong for immediate treatment.
