One of my favourite activities here in El Nido is to walk along the shore during low tide. There’s a variety of sea creatures that never ceases to amaze me. There are octopuses, hermit crabs, fishes, sea urchins, sea slug looking creature, sea snails, shrimps etc.

Shrimp

Flat Fish
You’ll also see a lot of people catching these creatures during low tide. They tend to be easily caught especially at night and they usually end up on the dinner table fried or grilled. These creatures become a good source of food for people living in the small fishing village in Bgy. Corong Corong.

I’d love to see them alive though rather than dead but nevertheless I’m happy that the clean ocean of El Nido provides food to its residents. I just hope that they can keep the ocean clean and that the people won’t over-harvest the bounty of the life giving waters that surround the beautiful island of Palawan.

i wanna see a sea kokomber too. hehe
awesome underwater life!

Great pictures. I especially like the sea urchin!
this is what every beach in the PH must look like- clean and providing food for its resident
