Find Cheap Flights and Explore London

Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise, it is possible to find cheap flights to London, enabling you to explore Britain’s vibrant capital without spending a fortune. London is full of exciting tourist attractions so no matter what you are into, you’ll find something to suit your tastes.

London flights may arrive in one of five different airports: Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Luton and City. It can sometimes seem difficult to find cheap flights that fly into them. There are, however, many airlines that offer low cost flights if you are thorough in your search.

Many flights to London go to Heathrow airport. London Heathrow is a large airport which serves 180 destinations in more than 90 countries. It is easy to get to central London from Heathrow as the non-stop Heathrow Express train runs every 15 minutes and takes only 15 minutes to get to Paddington station.

You can also get the London Underground which takes around 50 to 60 minutes, or the Heathrow Connect train which takes around 25 minutes. Both these services stop at stations on their way and are ideal if your stop is en route to Paddington station.

A cost-effective way to get into central London from Heathrow airport is to take the National Express coach. This has journey times of 40 to 80 minutes and stops at Victoria coach station and many other destinations.

Once you have arrived in London you will more than likely want to make your way to your hotel. Whether you are staying in London for business or pleasure, there are hotels to suit all budgets.

London is of course well known for its wonderful variety of theatre shows and the musicals of the moment include We Will Rock You, Wicked, The Wizard of Oz, Shrek and Dirty Dancing the Musical. The world famous Langham hotel is situated close to London’s West End, so is the ideal base for taking in a show or two. It is also perfectly placed for Oxford Street, which, at over a mile long, is the place in London to shop till you drop.

For those who enjoy taking in a spot of culture, London is home to many world famous museums and galleries. The good thing is that entry to many of these is absolutely free of charge, enabling you to explore more of London for less.

The iconic British Museum exhibits works of man from prehistoric to modern times, from around the world, while the National Gallery on Trafalgar Square is full of Western European paintings from the 13th to the 19th centuries.

The National Gallery houses masterpieces by famous artists including Van Gogh, Leonardo da Vinci, Botticelli and Renoir. It is definitely worth exploring if you are an art lover. Some, however, may prefer to admire it from the outside while soaking up the atmosphere at London’s famous Trafalgar Square, home to Nelson’s column.

London’s largest parks, and the perfect place for a leisurely walk. Together with Kensington Gardens it is an impressive green space of 625 acres.

Sites of interest in the park include the Diana, Princess of Wales memorial fountain, speaker’s corner, London’s holocaust memorial and a memorial for the victims of the 7/7 bombings. Lovers of botanicals will appreciate the rose garden and the curious weeping beech tree.

Whatever your reason for wanting to find cheap flights to London, you will not be disappointed by Britain’s majestic capital city. With world class theatre shows in the West End, beautiful parks, impressive museums and endless shopping opportunities, London has something for everyone.

Even those visiting London for business purposes may be unable to resist making the most of their trip and experiencing a little of what London has to offer. However you choose to fill your time in London, you are sure to leave the city fulfilled and counting down the days until you are able to return.

    There are cheap flights going into London. Sometimes I think it just takes some research and experimenting to figure out the cheapest ones. Even if I couldn’t find something cheap, going to London would be a fun experience.
